Okay i have never done that but i’ve found some things that might help you
1. figure out when you want to and what the trigger is
2. make a plan of what you can do such as
- distract yourself (call a friend and talk about something else, watch something unrelated on tv, go for a run or walk or bike)
- relax (take a shower or bath without razors near you, yoga, breathing exercises, listen to soothing music)
- express your pain (draw or scribble what you feel on a page~ some people use red pen or paint, listen to songs about it, write about it)
- release tension (exercise its really good for feeling healthy and refreshed, get a stress ball or play-doh, rip up paper)
and some more happy things you can do are
- play with a pet
- make tea
- curl up in a huge blanket
you can of course use substitutes (ice, bands, draw a line) to stop yourself from actually hurting and slowly wean yourself away from that but this is not addressing your trigger and if you really want to stop try the other methods, good lucky baby :)
